Upon returning to the Reef Variks had a yellow "!", low and behold I had inadvertently unlocked the second way to finish the bounty, and no crucible. So easy...

It was vigorous task at the time. Auto rifles had just gotten nerfed to nerf gun status. I brought my atheon epilogue into skirmish, my only void gun at the time. And wrecked it. 2 hrs later I came out victorious.
