So I thought I'd share some of the techniques I use to get a strong jump when a new DLC drops. If I forget something or there's something you'd like to add please do so. These methods are obviously most effective when done with three characters. Edging Factions: Get all your factions to within 100 xp, so that the day TTK drops, you can get 5 new packages immediately. Marks: Make sure your vanguard and crucible marks are at 200. Bounties: Have ten completed 5000 xp bounties. With the new subclass coming out, I'd suggest completed the mission to get it, then turning them in. Also there will be 16 bounty slots so you'll have room to grab new ones without turning any in. Packages: So legendary engrams are immediately determined, but packages are not. Save your packages at the postmaster (max of 20) and open them on launch day. Hoarding: Get as many motes of light and strange coins as possible. Since the economy changes are yet to be released we still can't be sure motes of light will be the most valuable, but it's worth the effort. Tips to follow. -Complete the nightfall and weekly heroic every week. Get the crota bounty that gives you three motes. -DO THE RAIDS. They're extremely easy now. Dismantle the gear and turn them shards/energy in to motes. -Do public events In conclusion, this is just one guy's opinion. I don't care about story line. I'm much more interested in getting great loot as soon as I can. Also, I will adjust this post when we are better informed on TTK details.
