It's not free... Nothing is free. It may not be paid for directly by the end user, but taxes etc. cover the cost.

Better that then a $50000 bill when you get out :/ or you just pay insurance to a private provider. Either way, at least the universal healthcare covers you when you're broke. Try getting coverage out of your provider after you've missed a few payments
