After a solid year, Xbox changed my GT??
I was joining an LFG team for nightfall, my GT is PONETHEPOON. (Well, was).
I joined the fireteam as PONETHEPOON and then right as I joined the Party chat my name popped up as GreatFoal644390.
We were all like WTF and it still showed my name as PTP in the game.
I have read the email now and it says it was inappropriate? I mean, [i]it is.[/i] But it's been a year, why now?
Just venting I guess.

Mine was STFUnoobz for over two years before I had to change it one day completely out of the blue. I figured I made someone mad after beating them senseless in COD a couple times.

4 RisposteThe way Live works, you can get away with anything that doesn't specifically violate any of their rules. Creative spelling, use of numbers in place of letters, etc. they've already blocked out the most obvious versions, but occasionally Gamertags, such as yours, get by because they don't meet any of the predetermined invalid combinations. That is, until someone reports you. Then it gets sent to an actual person who decides whether it stays or goes. Looks like that is what happened to you.
