I think it would be fun to have the exact same game mode as ToO but in normal crucible. There would be matchmaking to connect you to 2 other people if don't have a group and you could lose as many times as you want since it's just a normal crucible PvP game mode and if you won, you would remain with the same 2 people that were on your team. Not only would this help players improve their skills/get better specifically at ToO, but it could help you find 2 other people to play with so you can enter ToO. Plus it just seems like a fun game mode. Thoughts? Also, this should be a permanent game mode and not something temporary. edit: I was just informed that they in fact DID create such a game mode for normal Crucible but removed it. So, the sentence above still stands.
