Up until recently I saw regular posts about an upcoming update or DLC titled "Comet". I didn't do any legit research into this so I know very little about it other than it was supposed to be BIG! I do remember the common consensus was that it would be released in the fall. It's now been some time since I last read anything regarding it so I'm wondering if The Taken King is in fact Comet, just renamed?
