The phone example is stupid..when my current phone came out it was $600..unless you roped into a new contract that was $40 more per month than you could get anywhere else. I waited 6 months and got it for $0.99 no added monthly..just the regular 2 year contract I was already paying more for. It enticed me to move to a new provider..exactly what it was designed to do. My ckmpany ALWAYS offers better deals to new customers..it works. Once theyve tried the service its hard for them to go back to another one so they willingly pay more. If you want it buy it...of not don't...get a job or something it's really not a lot of money unless you are a poor fool..in which case I suggest doing something other than playing and complaining about the cost of video games..maybe work on thag resume instead.
