I used the Grand Lance my entire first play through of this rerelease. The pokes are great for cheesing enemies and red phantoms.
You can wear the Bracing Knuckle Ring (there's a +2 version in the Undead Crypt) and it will something like halve the durability damage your weapons and armor take.

Ok, thanks. I'm wearing the old leo ring right now, it doesn't seem to help very much, I'll replace it with the knuckle ring then, I forgot I even had it.
