Why shouldn't thorn be nerfed in pvp (Resonable discussion)
Thorn is much better than every single weapon in pvp and if you believe in a balanced pvp you should want a nerf. If u don't tell me why. Please have well though out answers and no shit like 'git gud'. Be sensible

4 RisposteI don't see why everyone is up in arms over this one weapon. It's unique and rightfully so because of what's required to obtain it. And I think the problem isn't Thorn it's the effectiveness of handcannons in general. They reward a skilled hand, couple that with the fact that 90% of the maps cater to close to mid range combat and you can see why the current meta revolves around exotic handcannons and shotguns. And to be honest I'm not sure if Bungie will ever do anything to address the issue. For one, when they did address the Suros issue they ended up nerfing the whole auto rifle subclass into obscurity. I think they're afraid something similar might happen if they tamper with Thorn or handcannons in general. Because then what you have is just a revolving door of balance changes, tweaks etc. Not to mention them looking incompetent. You just don't buff a weapon then revert it back to its original state, it shows ignorance and a lack of competence which is something a major company like Bungie should never do. And in a game with different tier weapons and character classes and supers..... It's just something that I think can never be truly balanced. Now I do think they should have more variety in crucible, maybe a swat type game mode with no supers no exotics just plain vanilla weaponry.

They need to make it so exotic armor and exotic weapons can't be equipped in crucible. That way they don't need crap

I don't have a problem with thorn, I have a problem with the amount of people who use it. Why do so many people use it? My guess is because it's easy to use, not overpowered.

2 RisposteI think Thorn is too versatile. I use Thorn, pre and post buff and the playstyle has changed dramatically. It used to be "shots matter, stay at a range" and the low stability, low reload speed, and the low mag reinforced that. Lower the stability and up the RoF and it should be good.

3 RisposteNerf it to hell! Its a crutch for all the bad players (including myself) and the bounty is not nearly as difficult as all those delluded thorn users make it out be. It ruins PvP, its the only gun people can use to compete with tryhards and it has a ridiculously high aim assist with send it or crazy stability with perfect balance. Nerf it Bungie! Nerf it!

Exotics are supposed to be the cream of the crop and just because you: A - don't have one of something B - you can't really use the weapon or C - you get owned by a certain weapon Does not call for an instant nerf. I'm getting pretty tired of weapons getting nerfed in this game. I only play PvP when the IB comes. I'm not good and I'm lucky if my k/d ratio breaks even.......... that's if I'm lucky! I might only throw this out as a suggestion and only a suggestion. Instead of calling for nerfs all the bloody time maybe bungie should look at limiting certain weapons per team. So let's say the magic number would be 2, that would mean instead of having a team of 6 running around with Thorns, there can only be 2. This is only a suggestion but, dammit all I'm getting tired of nerfs and there has to be another solution besides taking the exotic weapons and nerfing the shit out if them!!!!

It should be nerfed. Rate of fire should be same as Hawkmoon. Lower aim assist. Poison should be on every other shot. So 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9. Two poison headshots still a kill. A poison + kinetic headshot should leave you alive at full shields. It would almost be a game within itself. Trying to make the most of every magazine, knowing when it's good to waste your "even" rounds and when it's best to use them. The biggest problems I have with the weapon is its HUGE amount of aim assist. Also the fact that you can get two very quick headshots with this weapon and retreat to cover to collect a kill. The two headshots can happen faster than alot of weapons time to kill.

I thought you were a thorn whore at first, but by the sound of it, you realize it is slightly stronger than the rest, and from your perspective anybody who doesn't use it is disadvantaging themselves. You have a very sound argument, but I still think something should be done to it, have you seen all of the tryhards obsessing over it and the vex mythoclast in ToO?

Nerf thorn then the last word will be cried about. Nerf both then Red death will be cried about. Nerf red death then vex will be cried about again. Just stop crying already.

I just think it's effective range should be nerfed. Or, after a certain distance the DoT doesn't apply. Or make so their a drop on all the shots. Basically, I don't think it should be able to compete in the long distance game.

Thorn should NOT be nerfed. The only thing that could be changed, and even this I feel is wrong, would be that you can't see the DOT numbers through walls. That would be literally it.
