You're absolutely right. The only thing I can think of in their defense is, copywrite infringement/etc. I.e staying away from the standard design so as to avoid any association between Destiny guns, and real life HCs/etc... Making them so absurd that no company could say they were copied. Just a thought. I noticed the same thing on HCs and am not a fan
