What's your opinion on modern feminism?
How do you feel about modern feminism?
With people and events revolving around feminism in recent popular culture, it's hard not to have an opinion on the matter. Feminism has sparked things like gamer gate, Anita Sarkeesian, a Super Bowl commercial, and even getting the president to spout pro-feminism rhetoric in the state of the Union address.
So what do you think of the topic?

(The following information are my thoughts on feminism nowadays, in no way am I trying to -blam!-, oppress, harass or threaten anyone) I think that feminism has gotten kind of ridiculous. Please don't send me to jail.

1 RispondiIt's not real feminism. Feminism should be equal rights for women. Not women being put above men. Even my grandmother of 69 years of age(hurr hurr) says modern feminism isn't real feminism.

11 RisposteI find most women who identify themselves as feminists are in truth sexist. I'm female, btw. Feminism used to be about fairness. The right to vote, equal pay for equal work. Now it's about political power. Instead of equality it's about advantage. Men who mistreat women deserve to be shamed. Men do not deserve to be shamed for being male.

It just seems illogical. The surest way to get someone to disagree with you is to be on one side of an argument. Why not fight for human rights? I think the main problem with modern feminism is that it wants women to be "small men, only better." It should instead acknowledge and respect differences. Millions of years of evolution don't vanish because of decades of marches and speeches.

1 RispondiMy girlfriend and I both support females and want to see all discrimination end. Racial, sexual, sexist, all of it. But if someone wears an asshole feminism shirt or adamantly supports asshole feminism, I get angry, and I show I'm angry. Thats one of the very few things in this world that pisses me the -blam!- off.

2 RisposteWhat's this "pay inequality" that some feminists preqch? Last I checked, pay is the same. The only reason why men do get paid more is because statistics show that they work more hours and work harder. Which leads to bonuses and wage increase. They earned that. You don't earn jack for simply having a vagina.
