Thanks - seems rare but it is happening. Between you, me and the other posters I would say we have about 12 or so confirmed cases of the door glitching out / enemies not spawning. Bungie tweeted about it so hopefully they will address it soon.

Happened to me on my second run through. First wave ended, then noticed it wanted me to kick off the door again. Kicked it off, worked fine the second time.

You got lucky - for some of us on the second run through the enemies just stop spawning and the door won't re-engage so you are stuck. Only option is to head to Orbit and restart the Nightfall.
