They knew from the VERY beginning obviously that exotics would be earned through a VARIETY of ways. If you actually take a step back and remove all notions of RNG and imagined rarity its pretty obvious that Xur was always meant to be the main way to get exotic gear. The drops and rewards were always meant to be happy accidents. You people took the name Exotic way too seriously and thought that they would be items of unimaginable rarity, but that simply is not the case and it obviously was never meant to be the case. They are special items that are meant to surpass and replace Legendary gear in certain situations or to better fit someones personal playstyle. They are not meant to be one in a million item that you can lord over all the people who don't have one. They were always meant to be obtainable for everyone. So instead of blaming Bungie for "Ruining The Rarity of Exotics" you need to be blaming yourself for thinking that they were ever that rare to begin with.
