There's only like five exotics you can earn, all the others you buy from xur or get lucky from a random drop.
[spoiler]You know, the ones that you get from bounties.[/spoiler]

Even the bounties randomly drop. But I agree. They are the ones that are really earned. I just need super good advise and my exotic bounty collection will be complete. Still lots and lots of other exotics to get though.
