A 32 with Crota gear can take much more damage than a 30. It makes a huge difference. Thats about the only difference it makes but it's substantial. There is no upside to using vog gear when armor with much better stats is out there. You are better off using maxed vendor gear than vog gear. Oracle disrupting weapons do make a big difference though
