I was playing hard mode last night with an LFG group and one of the guys kept dying during Gatekeeper portals. After awhile he said, "oh! I don't have my 32 gear on--I'm only 31. That's why I keep dying." I just laughed. I'm not even coming down on the guy, I just thought it was funny and relevant to this.
