The classes are unbalanced in PvP and Hunters are heavily OP (Proof inside!)
I always had the impression, the classes are not well balanced and therefore I went to destinytracker.com and did some research.
I evaluated several Top-100 rank lists (score, K/D etc.) on their site across all platforms and statistically counted the occuring classes.
This is the result as a distribution of classes among the Top 100 lists:
[b]63% - Hunters
23% - Titans
14% - Warlocks[/b]
This leaves two conclusions:
1. Good players play Hunters.
2. Hunters are the most powerful class concerning the Crucible.
Personally I doubt 1, at least in with this numbers. Hunters are the most played class, but the distribution in pure played classes is somehow like 38:31:31 (H:T:W).
How would you interpret these numbers?
edit: It's typical for these forums, how you get attacked and flamed if you open hypothesis like this.
Don't get me wrong, kids, I'm not calling for a nerf or anything. I just want to discuss the numbers.
And I expect Bungie to do a decent retrospective in the classes balance!
edit2: It's interesting to see, how nobody seems to care about this thread but the the Hunter fanboys, who solely come in to cry and tell me to stop crying and to stop to critic their beloved Hunter.
This community is really immature and childish.
edit3: A lot of people start to argue with class skills or player skills, but can we please reduce to the numbers I posted and you can try explaining them?

I do a lot better on the Hunter than the other two characters, and the most aiding factors are agility, their jump, the ability to blink (which is nearly as annoying on a Warlock), the gun perks (Woe and Trance), and the ability to drop off the radar. In terms of grenades and melee (aka shotgun sub), I find Warlocks a lot more menacing. And Titan supers are the ultimate bitch, you have less time to react to it than any other super, and a very slim chance of stopping them from using it or dying in the process (within range). Granted how unpopular overall Titans seem to be, I'm surprised it surpassed Warlocks on the top 100. 14% is really low...is it because of the glide?

1 RispondiHunters supers are good compared to other classes but bladedance is not too easy to use and golden gun can be bursts down quickly tbh I think with comet they will add 3rd subclass and possibly tamper with the existing subclasses. However hunters are terrible in PVE Crotas end is literally the only time they are good and also nightfalls for revives but y do u need to go out and revive if the guy can just self res or popped a bubble before they died.

Well I have ( or had ) all three classes. In my opinion I feel like Titans are the most balanced class, defender class, fun and really helpful for you team ( what I run most of the time), and striker. Now I know everyone ( aka hunters ) are going to complain about FOH as it is one of the few things that will kill them in arc blade with one hit. But I feel like FOH is a 2 kill average at best, and half the time ends in death. With my hunter I find it much more likely that I will get at least 3 kills, and won't die as I am not close range to the enemy team. Then there is blink, not exclusive to hunters, but still a PITA for a lot of people to deal with, then arc blade.... Invisibility, increased damage resistance, health regen in kill, one hit kill... I made a hunter because of how they play in pvp.

I have all 3 classes and enjoy the other 2 far more. Dont get me wrong good players can own with hunter. But to me they just dont bring that much to the table.

1 RispondiI don't believe they are op I play as one often and almost every super counters arc blade and golden gun can be easily killed with a shotty or sniper etc so I don't see how someone can say they are op when they can easily be countered in pvp

Warlocks are the worst because people try using sunsinger and radiance in PvP LOL if you know how to use it right its deadly but most people go in there, die, self res, then die again haha nova bomb and blink on the other hand is amazing. Basically a Hunter except with a better super. I also feel like a lot of Noobs main a Warlock and alot of Vets main a Hunter so of course noobs get destroyed moe often !

Hunters just have a speed advantage. Unfortunately, every map is tiny. This makes that speed advantage deadly

4 RisposteImo everythings balanced. I loved the momemt when i hears a golden penis, activated radiance (with radiant skin), meled someone to get an overshield amd the guy with the golden penis needed all 3 rounds to kill me.😂

You might want to look at an individual players kd ratios across all 3 classes. If everyone has a higher ratio on their hunter, you would be right. Your numbers make sense with my 3.

1 RispondiYour assessment is probably correct. I only play a Warlock so the abilities of the other two classes confound and startle me. They for sure have more power, speed and killing ability than my sad little Warlock. I just ignore their little flashing geegaws and exploding trinkets they throw about the playing field. Space Magic™ FTW.

Hunter attracts the pvp elite with its speed and legit jump. Not saying I'm anything close to good but if I were to seriously compete it'd be with a hunter.

3 RisposteThis is how they balanced the Characters: Warlocks have superior grenade and melee abilities as opposed to the other classes Titans have superior armor and health as opposed to the other classes Hunters have superior supers and agility as opposed to the other classes. With the agility boost it allows hunters to get around the map far easier than a warlock or titan, and when super time comes around we all know hunters are vastly superior.

6 RisposteTotally agree. The sad part is these are things that weren't balanced from the start and can't change now. Also on a side note, have you noticed that warlocks are the only class that don't have a OHK melee/melee upgrade?
