When Do We Cross the Line?

Abortion is a huge argument, I think we all can agree on that. The argument is whether a preconceived child is considered to be alive. Are they alive before they leave the womb? Or do they gain something once they have been born, something that you can't see? I'm not here to talk about that argument, instead something that will soon become a very real, and very dangerous point. When do we cross the line on the worth of human life? It may be rare to execute a criminal, but how long will it be until every prison has an electric chair, waiting to take another life? Does the act of murder, or theft, or whatever they did diminish the value of their life? Do we even have the right to decide that? How long will it be until we start putting the sick and old to sleep in order to save money, equipment and medicine? Again, when did we get the right to decide what a human life is worth? These issues may be almost nonexistent today, but what about a few years from now? I'm not taking any sides in this post, instead I am posing two questions. When do we cross the line between right and wrong, and when we do, will we even realize what we are doing?
