I propose in the next patch that you (bungie) add what I call " A Materials Exchange Officer" into the tower. This character would give players who have way to much of one material and need another, a way to put their excess to work for them. For example; As of now I have no need for Ascendant shards, I could go to "The Materials Exchange Officer" and use them to buy spinmetal, Ascendant energy or even a bag of glimmer. Having this character in the tower would add a whole new dynamic to how the game is played, and would mitigate some of the bad luck players get stuck with sometimes.
