The best thing to do is to just tell them straight (hue). The more you distance yourself from physically telling them the more uncomfortable you make yourself look, which is never a good thing in these situations. Plus it means you don't have to sit around stressing like shit until they've finished reading it. The more you tell people, the easier it'll become to tell other people, so some more advice is not to let them be the first people you vocalise it to unless you're sure it's going to go well.
