I was doing some research on this and thought it was creepily interesting. Unfortunately I don't think I have ever had a physical reaction to a sound/whisper/tapping /brushing
Do any of you experience this?
Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is a neologism for a perceptual phenomenon characterized as a distinct, pleasurable tingling sensation in the head, scalp, back, or peripheral regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, or cognitive stimuli. The nature and classification of the ASMR phenomenon is controversial,[1] with strong anecdotal evidence to support the phenomenon but little or no scientific explanation or verified data.[2]

5 RisposteThese videos are so fucking weird.

I don't think I have any triggers.
-
Certain sounds and tones in songs do it for me. Might be the reason why I listen to so much music.
-
I listen to this to help me sleep since I don't sleep the greatest and for me it helps.
-
2 RisposteThere are a few tactile/auditory things that give me this sensation.

2 RisposteNot gonna lie, you've piqued my interest. I might look into this myself.

5 RisposteYes. I listen to it most nights when I can. Feels amazing and sends me right to sleep. I find I need a mixture or visual/ sound triggers to experience it. Rarely I'll find someone who has a voice or accent that triggers me. Recently I've taken a liking to Cosmic Tingles. Love her voice and she does exactly what I look for. Gentle Whispering has an awesome accent that sets me off like crazy, but I think my favourite is still Heather Feather. She puts a lot of effort into her videos and usually has funny little references too. Her aperture science one was so good.

1 RispondiThis happens to me occasionally. Not really sure why, though.

4 RisposteDoes it help you relax? I have a lot of trouble relaxing
-
I hate when people refer to them as "braingasms".
-
2 RisposteAt first, I was like "Huh? No." So I stated skipping through the video. Randomly stopped on a part where she's putting a cap back on a bottle and immediately understood what she was talking about. Little tingles down my neck and back. weird.

2 RisposteYou might not have found the right trigger maybe?
