You said you'd do the same thing as the adult in the OP. If that's true then you're a bad person. There's really not a lot of gray area here. An adult response to the kid's behavior, if you disapprove of it, is to report him. Tricking him, and deleting his account is wrong no matter how you try to rationalize it.

If someone cheats on their taxes do you support burning their house down? If someone lies on their resume do you think it's okay to rob them? I'm not saying the kid did nothing wrong. I'm saying that tricking him and deleting his account makes you a scumbag.

Please. You're nitpicking. Two of his three characters were deleted, including his primary character. He would have deleted everything on the third character but the kid shut down the PS4. This changes nothing about what I said. If you trick a child as a form of vigilante justice you're a scumbag. Rationalize it however you want. You're not a good person.
