Yeah that works bigtime on Shores of Time.....
Any other map and you will get maimed equipping a sniper.
Someone hits me with a sniper....tip of the hat to you....
On my respawn your position is known and I will do my best to get you off of whatever point you are on.

I get most of my snipe kills in CQC (posted a funny video of one such occurrence). I do not camp in map corners. As long as you have map knowledge (understanding sight lines) and good situational awareness, snipers can be used affectively in close or medium range. Again, this is really hard to do without situational awareness (E.g. very hard to do in inferno mode). Shotguns dominate inferno; it is much harder to use snipers and fusions in inferno.
