It’s is free.
You don’t have to buy the cosmetics to participate, and not buying them doesn’t change the play experience.
This is why Bungie doesn’t listen to this place anymore. Because we told them that selling cosmetics under these conditions was acceptable.
But, no. We keep moving the goalposts and continue to complain in a self-serving and impossible-to-please manner.
This making it clear that we have no principled objection. So they stopped listening to us (rightfully) about store operations, years ago.

Modifié par blade329 : 7/22/2022 4:24:54 AMIt is NOT free to play, it is free to try. That’s the reality.

I’m speaking of the event…not the game itself.
It’s is free.
That has nothing to do with what is taking place. Using "it's free" is a copout for poor lazy work, and It's about outdated as Bungie's P2P.
You don’t have to buy the cosmetics to participate, and not buying them doesn’t change the play experience.
The first part is true, the second is false for those that know what it is like to acquire items just by simply playing the game, and trying to use "they are just cosmetics" doesn't work either.
This is why Bungie doesn’t listen to this place anymore. Because we told them that selling cosmetics under these conditions was acceptable.
Excuse me, there is no "we', you mean a certain amount of players that don't care that will just accept literally anything thrown at them from Bungie no matter how low Bungie's actions are.
But, no. We keep moving the goalposts and continue to complain in a self-serving and impossible-to-please manner.
Gee, I wonder how the original Bungie knew better??? It doesn't take brain surgery to do right by the player base. II's called common sense that this Bungie does not have.
This making it clear that we have no principled objection. So they stopped listening to us (rightfully) about store operations, years ago.
You mean the mind games they played on the week unsuspecting players that they literally hired a someone to manipulate those players. Loot boxes anyone??? Your outlook on things is majorly flawed trying to pin all of this on the player base when Bungie goes out of their way to manipulate those players to make a profit.

Modifié par TheArtist : 7/21/2022 12:45:15 PMThe fact that it’s free should inform one’s expectations, and help to right-size them. But thanks for making my point for me. That was very considerate. My outlook is that the only thing that Bungie owes me is a product that works, says what the ads say it does, at the agreed upon price. Expect anything else and you won’t get it…and you are the architect of your own unhappiness.
-
It being free or players having expectations has nothing to do with Bungie's deliberate poor actions. I mean who wouldn't want Bungie to improve things for the amount of money given to them??? You are just saying it's okay that they take advantage of these players, and you are 100% wrong.

Still making my point for me. When conflict is always someone else’s fault? It means that there is no self-awareness. It always takes two for there to be conflict. Even if the role of the other person is their unwillingness to walk away. They have CHOSEN to be there. When a neurotic is in conflict with the world, he assumes that it is (exclusively) his fault. But when someone with a character (personality) disorder is in conflict with the world, he assumes that it is (exclusively) the world’s fault. —-Scott Peck MD, Psychiatrist. No real person is always wrong or always at fault. The world doesn’t work that way.

Modifié par TheShadow : 7/21/2022 3:02:42 PMYes it takes 2 for there to be a conflict, but it only takes 1 to do the right thing. In this case you used Bungie's license agreement as an excuse to say it's okay to continue with the poor business practice. You failed to see that there are options in spite of your opinion that Bungie refuses to take. Not everyone falls in the category you're referring to, so as I said there is no "we" it's you and the others that approved this by supporting it. That's on you, not the entire community especially knowing the little "remove eververse" movement 👍

Yes, it only takes one and We aren’t doing it so it is pure hypocrisy and selfishness to take Bungie’s inventory without being willing to look in the mirror and do the same. ”The central tenet of the human drama is: The Whole World Needs To Change So That I Can Remain The Same.” —-Eckhardt Tolle. ”Be the change you wish to see in the world.” —-Mohandas “Mahatma” Gandhi. You don’t get to demand that others behave selflessly and altruistically, so you can comfortably be selfish. Doesn’t work that way. What you put out into the world comes back to you.

TL, DR. I would thank you, but I'm not going to thank anyone that is actually part of the problem.

Modifié par TheArtist : 7/21/2022 3:49:03 PMWasn’t too long, you just didn’t care to read. DR, CBB: You are part of the problem. Which is hypocritically and selfishly holding others to standards you yourself don’t live up to. You get back what you put out into the world. That’s what karma really is. Cause and effect.

I remember you from another dumb post

And I don’t remember you, since I ignore background noise.
