Title.
This is the price of a whole season for just 20 days and a few cosmetics.
Cosmetics should've been in Eververse. Or given out as rewards.
We pay $100+ per year to play this game which is more than most games charge and you definitely make millions more out of the Eververse. We pay it because it's revolving content and we wanted to support the developers.
However.
Asking us to pay for a 3 week mini season inside of a season we already paid for feels scummy to me. Us asking for this 20 day event to be free, especially considering that the EAZ and most of the weapons from this are recycled, is not a steep ask.
This is especially true when you consider how many adverts you have in the game. The tower, obviously, but also the quest screen, the Triumphs page, and the Eververse storefront. So that's 20 days of being advertised to since I didn't buy it. Sweet /sarcasm
Edit
Because people don't want to grasp what I'm saying, I'll TLDR it.
This "free" event has massive advertisements for the event card everywhere you do the event. Half of the solstice challenges screen is the cosmetics, which you only unlock by paying.
So, do you HAVE to pay to play? No. But, you DO have to pay in order to get them to stop asking you to pay via your inventory items, quest screen, Eva, and the Triumphs page.

1 commentaireTotally agree. I won’t buy the garbage, i already paid for all the content the greedy -blam!-’s at bungie will make in a year and honestly they won’t come close to making it worth the money as it stands.
-
3 commentairesThe event IS free. They are selling a 3 pack of cosmetics for silver. How is this different from every other event? The other items are obrainable FOR FREE by getting event tickets. I really don't understand the intelligence in some of these Solstice posts. Just say you are mad that not everything is free immediately...🤦🏻♂️

Personally, the event pass is frankly a joke and not worth complaining about due to how little impact it has, but it would certainly be nice if the ads on it were less intrusive.
-
6 commentairesThe event is literally free. You're crying about 3 mediocre cosmetics put behind a 10$ barrier. If you care THAT much, pay the 10. If you can't afford 10, then find a job..?

13 commentairesIt’s is free. You don’t have to buy the cosmetics to participate, and not buying them doesn’t change the play experience. This is why Bungie doesn’t listen to this place anymore. Because we told them that selling cosmetics under these conditions was acceptable. But, no. We keep moving the goalposts and continue to complain in a self-serving and impossible-to-please manner. This making it clear that we have no principled objection. So they stopped listening to us (rightfully) about store operations, years ago.

Modifié par mxgreg : 7/21/2022 4:16:12 PMI'm all against micro-transactions and have a hard time dealing with a mixed model that seems to be trying to milk you every 5 seconds, but my real issue is what is the point of the solstice? The event is not good. It's just another form of bounties and checkmarks? The changes to the EDZ mode make the map less interesting and boring. Getting good armor is not worth the time unless you are super new to the game. So what are you getting out of this event? Also, it's getting old with this game being a team-based game and the long objects/bounties/checkmarks are individually based. It always feels like we are fighting for kills with these objectives. Most things should be team-based, not fighting to throw orbs or solar kills, etc.

I think the destiny payment model needs looking at. I agree with your sentiment but this has been going on for a long time now. The 10 tank shortcut was the one that tipped it for me. Anyone who plays a lot knows this isn’t worth it but some players who are new or returning don’t. It is a pure cash grab and Solstice is the same. Paying for transmog and having our in game route capped is also awful. Bungie are implementing essentially a subscription service (annual release, pre order for dungeons etc) and a season pass model with free to play events. They’re dipping from all pots and I don’t really think as the consumer we are seeing Bette results. Seasonal activities follow the same formula, playlist activities are in massive need of new content and game breaking bugs are becoming more and more common.

1 commentaireThey really charged people for the event?🤣
-
It is just an eververse bundle it's just displayed differently, the stuff in that bundle aren't appealing at all to me so I won't be buying it just like with any other bundle I don't care for you dont need everything bungie throws at you, now having to get tickets in order to unlock what you've already purchased that's dumb af.

5 commentairesFor $100 per year you get literally thousands of hours of entertainment. What other activity can you do for thousands of hours for $100? More money makes the game better. It's $10 for the extra, optional by the way.. items. I'm 100% for supporting the company. It's not like it's a Lost Ark or a Diablo Immortal style system. It's literally optional. Bungie keep up the good work. You're all doing an awesome job and I appreciate it :) <3

Except it IS free. The only thing you have to pay for is the event card which just gives a handful of cosmetics.
-
3 commentairesIt is free

17 commentairesIt is free. You can see all the rewards you can pay for. There is 0 reason to pay for anything.
-
5 commentairesSolstice IS free. The cosmetics would have been for silver anyway.
-
7 commentairesSolstice is free...
-
10 commentairesthe event is free, the cosmetics are for sale as they have been in the past. the method is the only difference, aside from the deal on the same cosmetics that would have already been for sale now cheaper. the constant outrage over an optional buy is pathetic. what you paid for the year has nothing to do with additional items for sale. how are people confused that buying item a doesn't get item b?
-
9 commentairesIt’s free if you don’t buy the purely cosmetic pass.
-
18 commentairesI'm not sure who you gave money to for solstice, but you shouldn't have. It's free.
-
16 commentairesThe events is free The cosmetics aren't ...and never was You are complaining for nothing

They are not stuff like books you can read for free once bought.
