The last I heard about it was that it would have a dark zone like area on some maps and that it would be tailored to the hardcore players (which would be a dumb idea since they make up a small portion of the total player base). If anything thing, I can see a 2019 teaser, 2020 announcement, and a 2021 release. Or, if they're smart, they do what they should have done with d2 and make d3 a massive expansion for d2

Yah but...after the train wreck that is D2...why would anyone buy D3? Doubtful there will be a change in their cash grab and design philosophy...more drip fed content, more p2p networking where error codes are always YOUR fault, more time gated crap, more shit rewards, more forced play in whichever mode you hate to fill a quest..more stupid nerfs and more pointless and boring grinds. I'll be taking my $$ to a pawn shop to buy another project guitar to repair and resell.
