Think it was intended for anti camping. But seeing how there is a barrier it must be for hard mode. But seeing how you also cant kill gatekeepers without swords and also can only damage crota by sword i really dont know how this will work. Seeing how a perfect run now can give you 6-8 hits and can kill him quick in 2 swords i think you have to kill gatekeepers first and can get max 3-4 hits in with each sword. Meaning you need 4 swords and that would mean close to enrage. Think if you are quick and work together perfect you can run 5 swords before enrage.
But if what i heard is correct and oversoul spawns randomly we are screwed if it is like this. Also if there is no chalise, damn.... Same with respawns.... This will probely wont be as easy as it is now......

I get 5 heavy attacks per sword, you're doing something wrong.

i think 5 slams isn't the best combo but i guess its down to preference and as long as your getting good dps off i myself prefer to use to slashes to position myself on him then do 2 more slashes then a slam( actually a swing in the combo animation) then another slam. if i have ult however i use 1 slash to position then 2 swings the slam (same as before) then slam ult combo (does a melee override so you hit twice)

Explain since we get 6-8 rt's every sword and you talk about 5.

Per attack, I misworded. That is 10 RTs per sword. (Or 9 and a super)

can 10 RTs kill crota ? tho as a 32? and surely you must occasionally mis-swing when your just RT and miss the hit all together?

It takes 11 RT or 9+Super. No I'm not always perfect, but being able to kill Scrota before the Ogres come out helps a lot. I find that the issue with a lot of teams is they don't recover well after Ogres, so skipping it altogether is nice.

yeah that is a very valid point the fire team i usually run the raid with kill him on second sword majority of the time presuming crota doesn't do something silly like chase us to the wrong side or teleslam the swordholder. an i only use the slashes to position myself an i am finding lately that i get more damage of on Crota if i do the 2 swings the RT due to the combo animation seeming faster ( might just be going crazy) but it still gets him killed

Ive managed to drop him in one sword a few times now its a little more complicated and requires good team work but it will be achievable depending on what curve balls they throw at us

yeah as i said little more complex you have to get him dropped three times in a single sword phase and have your team generate at least 1 orb to get ur supper u in time. its easier to get him in 2 swords and safer but for enrage purposes you could do it in one. (don't think it would be practical or doable in the hard raid tho)

you also have to have a fireteam you can fully rely on to drop him and keep the boomers off you.
