It'll be cool if in the sequels this gun returns but in a legendary/exotic tier.

Imagine turning it into an exotic? Like, a bounty would require you to have the gun, or if you don't, to do missions on 20+ and hope the boss drops it (Or make it guaranteed with the Sepiks Prime Nightfall alongside regular rewards) and bring it to the Gunsmith. Then, after completing various other tasks centered around "restoration" (I;e killing Public Event bosses on earth for golden age mats, finding fallen weapons from Yellow Bar Fallen, earning things such as Shaxx's golden age rifle collection [maybe related to the battle of the Twilight Gap?]), the Gunsmith reforges the ancient rifle into a combination of new and old. [i]The Age Reborn Some flames never quite die out. Unique Upgrade: Restoration Firing at allies with this weapon provides them with a temporary shield that grows in the strength the longer it is fired. [/i] Would be great for PvE or team based Crucible!
