Do strike playlist. Decent chances at better gear rewards and constant Vanguard rep and marks. Might wanna try leveling a faction first like dead orbit it new monarchy so that both crucible and Vanguard rep count towards it. Once you have legendaries, you start to get legendaries.

I did Strikes all the time and only ever got blue. If the idea of giving legendaries once people get legendaries was what Bungie intended then that is stupid games design. I owned 2 exotic weapons before I got a legendary because I bought them from Xur.

Xur makes exotics easy, ever get an exotic otherwise? Strike playlist, public events, patrol missions, and, most importantly, bounties (I generally ignore crucible bounties, Vanguard's are quicker/easier/more rewarding) should all get you decent reputation. If you really work to get to rank 3 with a faction with an armor piece in mind, you'll find something along the way. And even if you don't, you get 1 legendary free for reaching rank 3 with a faction, plus the ability to then buy more. Worst case scenario, a weeks worth of bounties and strikes later with no lucky drops, you still get one free and an easily purchased second and third, and a sustainable source of more to purchase. The faction vendors are there to ensure progression without requiring luck, while luck can help speed up the acquisition of gear.

Edited by Just Dave Man: 10/13/2014 12:12:25 PMYeh I have had 1 exotic drop this weekend. I bought the Ice Breaker. Next day I do a strike and I get the Ice Breaker. Thanksa bunch Bungie for trolling me like that. Only legendaries I have had drop are the 3 Timurs Lash handcannons while my friends seem to get all sorts of crazy legendary drops all the time. I only take the crucible ones when I go into crucible. I actuallly go out to do the vanguard ones 1st because you can blast throught them but the crucible ones just sort of happen. i wish they would do a 10k xp bounty for the 15 kills. Most of the "Challenging" ones they come up with are stupid grinding ones like 50 machine gun headshots and things. When it comes to factions armour then there is only one worth joining because FWC armour does up intellect and discipline while the others do strength. The cool down on melees is pretty quick anyway and often its better to prevent yourself getting in a melee situation by having faster supercharge and faster grenade recovery. So as FWC armour is the one with Intellect and Discipline it is better to go with them. The trouble is that it is a massive grind to do those factions and it also means you dont level up your crucible or vanguards at all.
