How long did it take you to get a legendary engram and how long did it take for one to actually give you a weapon?
I have played this game for what I would consider a ridiculous amount of time during my break and I finally got my 1st weapon based legendary engram today after all this time. I got 2 shards out of it. -.-I dont mind getting shards as I dismantled my queens helmet thinking it would give shards back if it was upgraded at least NOPE! (18 shards wasted) Now I have 2 so at least there was that but I have 3 exotic weapons before I have had any legendaries and that seems a bit ridiculous to me.
Everytime I've levelled up my cryptarch who is now about level 19 I have gone to get that little legendary pack and only got blue decoherents. I've seen some people pick up multiple legendaries in 1 evening and they have like 4 or 5 legendary weapons. I'd buy them from the crucible people so I could do the vault of glass but it seems you have to play crap ton of crucible and strikes to even go up 1 rank so rank 3 is something that probably wont happen before 2015 at this rate. Having not had any legendary weapons I'm getting a bit tired of seeing buddies going on to do the vault of glass and I can't join them because the game is massively screwing me over for legendaries atm. I expected to have at least 1 after 50+ hours game time in. Is there anything else I can do to increase my chances? Or have I actually played a really short amount of time and shouldn't be expecting a legendary after 50+ hours?

First two legendary engrams I got I got a legendary then on my third legendary primary engram I got the last word.

I got my first at lvl 25 and decoded to truth. next engram I decoded was blue and it turned to a purple. post patch I have only gotten 2 one was a purple and one decripted up to an exotic.

I think I got my first legendary weapon engram at level 27 while playing a daily 28 on solo. That took roughly 60+ hours.

i get 1-3 legendary engrams a day by grinding strikes and leveling up cryptarch, 30% of the time they'll actually decrypt to what they're meant to be but normally i just get shards. which i'm happy with. if you want legendary weapons, rank up your vanguard/faction and go buy one from a vendor it's better than relying on luck :)

My first legendary engram gave me a legendary fusion rifle. My second legendary engram gave me a legendary pulse rifle. My third one gave me motes. My next one gave me legendary boots

I only ever got one. I was playing crucible and got kicked too starting page due too centipede error as i logged in again it came up with a exotic chest piece engram received. When i opened my inventory it turned out to be a blue engram instead. -blam!- knows what happened but i haven't seen a exotic anything (apart from xur stuff) at all.

Saturday, I had two purples drop and a legendary item from a blue engram. Yesterday I got rewarded a legendary engram after a strike, I think I've been lucky lol.

Got "Lord High Protector" (hand cannon) in a purple engram last week - first purple item since the patch. It was just shooting some shanks while on patrol on Venus - no special event or anything. I thank RNGesus!

I am level 26 and never got a legendary engram. Hell, I don't even have a legendary weapon yet even though I did the raid. ( All I got was Shards and Energy)

There are purple engrams??? Level 25 and never seen one. I did get Shadow Price from a blue....

A month in and I have only seen about 5 legendary engrams but no exotics. Not one.

7 RepliesI got all mine from doing hard strike missions. A lot were engrams randomly dropped on the ground by dead enemies.

3 RepliesDo strike playlist. Decent chances at better gear rewards and constant Vanguard rep and marks. Might wanna try leveling a faction first like dead orbit it new monarchy so that both crucible and Vanguard rep count towards it. Once you have legendaries, you start to get legendaries.

1 ReplyI got mine shortly after I reached level twenty the grim citizen then I stumbled on a drop, a purple, that actually turned into a legendary machine gun the zombie apocalypse. I'm level twenty seven and got my first exotic, sorry, purchased my first exotic after a what the timer on my profile says the plus days off game time of milling away at strikes and events saving up my strange coins for a rainy day.

Jah, level 27 first legendairy. A machinegun. Level 26 first exotic fusion rifle plan C. And my mates a showering in legendairy gear. I have to do with green gear and sometimes blue. Jeej.

Yeah I'm in the same boat I've got 4 through gameplay post actuality patch (the one that made the cryparch actually give according to color) one was a blue one was two shards one was a strange coin and one was an energy

6 RepliesIf u do nightfall strikes makes levelling up a lot easier plus if u do it u get 500xp for nightfall and weekly level 28 u get 250xp I'm rank 5 vanguard now
