Get gear to raise your level.
Once you get 26 you can do the raid and get better weapons than anything the vendors sell.

Also, I want something for PVP too :D (weapon wise) but I guess gear is more important for leveling purposes

Think I should start leveling Vanguard and Crucible rep? Seeing as I only have New Monarchy. Or should I keep raising New Monarchy for each rank you get a lenedary
