I agree with you to a point, but I take issue with putting all gamers under that umbrella.
There are plenty of gamers that have families, jobs, hobbies, classes, social lives, pets...some have all of the above. I should know, I'm one of them.

I only got a job, a girlfriend and a dog :p and for the social bit, i got some of those too... :p hehe... I play when I want, I go out and hang with friends when i want, i walk my dog everyday even if I dont want to :p for me gaming is a place to relax and have som fun with other gamers! I got so much other things too do the sit at home playing.. with that said, the last 2-3 weeks i have put shitload of time into destiny :p
