• If they get within a certain distance of the Marker, yes they could. Question is, can the flood infect the necromorphs after the necromorphs morph their nervous system inside out (or remove it entirely)?

  • I don't know much about the Necromorphs other than the obelisks existed before and were discovered on different planets and that they resurrect and morph corpses into abominations. As far as I've seen. Really don't know if they are a highly intelligent design(or curse), or magic. Long term the flood would no doubt win because it consumes both flesh and knowledge. They can learn information from their host and pickup skill sets as well. That's what I think anyway.
Really don't know if they are a highly intelligent design(or curse), or magic
They're made by the Markers, giant 'machines' that give off signals that reanimate bodies into necromorphs. The Markers also drive people insane and force them to build more Markers, and wiped out the rest of the galaxy which is why humanity never encountered any alien life. It's more complicated than that, but I don't have time to cover it all right now.

  • Definitely like the sound of that though. An almost dark magic vibe in a science fiction and it fits well it seems. That's hard to pull off.

  • Definitely. It even has a cult based around it in the story. You'd think they'd give that up once they see the horrible monster-things, but apparently that's not an issue to them.

  • Don't know why they like the idea of bringing about necromorphs lol unless the obelisks are to blame.

They're called Unitologists. They think that the Marker will combine their minds into one big supermind and everything will be dandy. They really haven't thought that out too much, actually. Anyway, they think the people who turned into necromorphs just screwed up the process, so they keep trying. That and they're just insane.
