If the gun is in your left hand and it fires bullets. The shells would be discharging in your face.

bull pup style guns eject out the front, and then there's the fusion rifles and other energy based weapons that probably don't eject anything at all. and revolvers work just fine lefty.
-
Even some of today's weapons can be made for lefties so that the rounds eject out the left, so I doubt that 700 years in the future this will be a problem.
-
It's a bad move for the military to make weapons just for a minority of the soldiers. Lets say you're in a firefight and your gun jams or gets broken. The only weapon available to you is a left handed weapon. The problem about that would be you're a righty. Because the casings will be ejecting into your face you can't aim down the sights. So you have to gimp yourself by firing from the hip. A left handed weapon is not practical at all for military use. The only thing they have to do is get training to get used to firing a "right handed weapon." That way everybody is able to use a fallen gun.
-
You do realize that the casings ejecting across your face has no bearing on you being able to use the weapon, right? I'm right handed, but I've shot AR's left handed. It's not a problem at all.
-
And you are wearing helmets...
-
How far do they eject from your face?
-
Well, I shoot nose-to-charging handle, so my face is about 7-8 inches away from the ejection port. Anyone who is serious about weapons training will tell you that training to shoot with your support side (non-dominant hand, for me my left) is a must for being proficient with a weapon. Anyone in Special Operations trains regularly at weapons manipulations with both arms. Because the US military primarily uses the M4 platform and its variants, this means that they are shooting, collectively, millions of rounds every year left handed.
-
no necessarily. he could cock the gun the other way.
-
If it's an auto the shells would be discharging in your face.
-
So exactly the same as guns in all Halo games?
-
not if you cock it the other way like i just said. instead of pulling the mechanism on the right side, pull the mechanism on the left.
-
Guns don't magically change shapes.
-
it doesnt have to. some guns have mechanisms on both sides
-
remember.... SPACE MAGIC!!!!

Good point!
