Garrus survived and was always my comrade in my run. He was on my team in almost every circumstance. I suppose him getting on the Normandy during the final battle, injured and bleeding was for the best.

And I get no credit for calibrating the damn cannons do I? I'm always spending time on that and nobody seems to care. All it ever is is that I'm a great shot... no complaints here though, I'm kind of an amazing sniper but still. Some of my work does go unappreciated.
