Sometimes women can't do a job as well as men, so logically they should get paid less.

Do you really believe that? Do you think you could still say that if you were a female?

Edited by Athenia: 4/10/2013 8:25:22 PMDepends on the job. Generally they're not as good as men unless they work in a job dominated by females like a clothing store for example. Jobs that have things to do with labor, technology, science based, endurance, etc are done better by men. The demographic for those jobs is proof enough since women try to avoid those jobs or don't even get hired.
Do you think you could still say that if you were a female?
Can you answer this?
Generally they're not as good as men unless they work in a job dominated by females like a clothing store for example. Jobs that have things to do with labor, technology, science based, endurance, etc are done better by men.
So what article exactly did you get this from? I'm asking because everything you just told me, contradicts the Bureau of Labor Statistics most recent data. There are only six jobs where women receive more pay on average, and there is no general trend or conclusion to make.
-
If I was female I would still say it. Even as a name I know there are some things females are better at in regards to jobs and if I got paid less than them for it, Id be content. I also looked up jobs on my plan.com that shows the demographics for every job they listed. And that article contradicts nothing I said because it doesn't address the points I made.

I would like to hear your argument based off some sort of reliable data.

That does nothing to contradict my claim. You're clearly not very good at comprehension. Just because they work those jobs doesn't mean they do it better than men. Not to mention you're complaining about women not making as much as men when that article contradicts your general claim. Try again. Edited by Dustin: 4/10/2013 9:33:07 PMYou told me that women are payed less because they are not as good in most jobs, excluding "clothing stores" (for the record, you may want to refrain from that kind of offensive talk). My article showed you that was not the case.
Not to mention you're complaining about women not making as much as men when that article contradicts your general claim.
If you read the article and its data, you would know that there are only six jobs where women make more then men on average. Regarding your links: The pie graphs I am assuming you are referring to, show examples of places where men are more employed than women. Would you like to add your conclusion to that?
-
I was just trying to use that as an example. It wasn't meant to be taken as is. And the pie graphs were used to support my initial point in regards to the areas that are dominated by men. Those are again examples used to reflect a more broad point. The careers listed are jobs that require a solid education and are based around science. I could get some statistics in regards to labor, but I'm fairly certain we can both agree that labor jobs are dominated by men.
-
That's a well put argument, but aren't you basically telling me that discrimination exists because of male dominated jobs? Or am I reading you wrong?

Edited by A Fly Lady: 4/10/2013 8:20:49 PMI am so happy Bungie gave me the ability to mute/hide users like you.

"You have a different opinion. Muted."

It's funny how you felt the need to tell me that.
-
Excuse me for not responding immediately to you. I am at WORK where I apparently should be making less than my counterpart with penises. Nice to know you muted me though. I guess the feeling is mutual.
