I already own the box sets of DBZ seasons 6-9. Funimation, take your pile of money and shove it into a Battle of God's license.

I'm sure alot of it went into Kai

They reformatted some of the frames, added digital enhancement (which can't even really be noticed in their 480i-1080i broadcasts), and recast some of the major voices. Although licenses and stuff do take a lot, most of the work was already done by the guys who made Dragon Ball Kai, the Japanese version of DBZ Kai. Really all Funimation did was redub the voices again.

Aquiring the license to the series (and the music which comes with the series if that's sold seperately, possibly even the script) as well as translators, and finally paying the VA's could cost alot.

No more than any other popular series Funimation has dubbed. This is just their attempt to get more money.

Wouldn't be surprised. Though we didn't get a dub of "Yo! Son Goku and his friends return" either
