DBZ Battle of Gods may get English dub.
FUNimation, the company behind the English dub of Dragon Ball Z (DBZ) knows we want the latest movie in the franchise, Battle of Gods. Toei, the company behind the original Japanese version knows we want Battle of Gods. So will we get Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods? Most likely, the question is just a matter of when.
Today, on their Twitter and Facebook pages FUNimation mentioned in order to get the latest movie, we have to buy existing titles so they have the capital to get the rights to it. At least that’s what they implied from our understanding. Here is the exact quote from their Facebook page:
[quote]You wanna know the best way to support a franchise and help us get the acquisitions you want? Buy existing titles in the market so we have the funds to do it.

FUNimation is a VERY GOOD DUBBING COMPANY. Completely the opposite of 4kids. There fairy tale and one piece dubs are awesome! They are partly redeeming the anime name in USA bit by bit!

For the movies and the episodes I can just watch them online. Right now I'm rewatching DBZ on dbzepisodes.net. That site has all I think it's 291 episodes and a lot of anime series. I don't see that point of buying them when I can watch them for free. I will buy the manga once I have the money, but the anime would be a waste to buy. Also the movies really were not that great. A lot of the movies I seen has the villain kicking the shit out of the mains and at the last minute the mains win. They are entertaining, but I won't waste money on buying them.

I'd REALLY like for them to confirm if they will be dubbing the Kai version of the Majin Buu saga. -
They said at a panel yesterday that they would have to wait and see if Fox would dub it if not they can get the license transfer or something. They said the soonest we could get a dub is 2 years sadly. Also they are re-releasing the manga colored like the anime if anybody would be interested buying those.

1 ReplyI'd also like to point something out. Funimation has clearly stated that they'll only be doing this if they get the funds from buying existing products. No one here will do this, and will just watch it online. Secondly, i can guarantee you all that everyone saying "good" will watch it subbed because you're not going to be waiting a good few months to watch it.
