  • more like we want people to stop trying to blame the law abiding for the actions of criminal scum. if you'd bother not listening to what you're told, and to actual researchers, gun control (more than what currently exists) doesn't make sense. anyone educated in the topic is likely to like guns though and is thus ignored by most anti-gun people who quite simply were indoctrinated at an early age. more guns less crime 3rd edition by Dr.John Lott Shooting The Bull by Guy Smith the second amendment by david barton. SCOTUS rulings and case law. these books are merely collections of facts. if you honestly want something done to curb violence: vote yes to endingthe underlying societal problems that cause crime(poverty, unemployment) vote yes to lazy bums being put to work in government factories. vote yes to stricter penalties for gang members and all violent criminals. vote yes to life in prison meaning life in prison, not 5 years before parole. vote yes to prisons becoming rehab centers and not hyperviolent criminally minded education centers. vote yes to mandatory rehab(including psychological treatment) for addicts vote yes to stamping out the Mexican cartels with military action.

  • for starters how about we start taking responsibility for once? idk maybe make sure guns are actually locked up? put them in a safe so we dont have something like newtown? start educating people on the safety of guns and have more open carry states

you know what a pistol grip is? http://www.amazon.com/Mako-Israeli-Defense-Forces-Pistol/dp/B0018O9MKG/ it's the ergonomic handle behind the trigger guard that the firing hand grips. it in no way effects anything but ergonomics and aesthetics. you know what a barrel shroud is? anything that would cover the barrel so as to prevent injury from touching hot metal in excess of 300*F and possibly around 700((red hot), depending on how rapid the shots were/how much cooling time between shots. wanting barrel shrouds banned means you want people to get hurt from hot metal contact... that was a feature from the AWB of 94. flash hiders reduce the flash resulting from unburnt powder escaping the barrel. they do no eliminate it. it a useful safety feature to prevent flash blindness, especially in low light and night conditions such as organized night shoots and hunting of nocturnal game.

  • no, it is not taking responsibility. it is scapegoating the gun as the source of violence instead of the criminal behind the gun.

  • Laws don't protect anyone either. Criminals will still commit crimes. Your point?

  • so you're saying that further Gun control laws will not protect anyone either, and that the criminals will still exist?

  • Criminals will always exist. Gun control will lessen it by a bit and basically enforce what responsible gun owners already know what to do. People who are responsible and know what to do with their guns shouldn't be worried. The only people who should be worried are the irresponsible ones.
