Of course not, but he does have to respond to the hype of the mass shootings. I have no doubt this whole gun sensation will be gone in a few months.

  • If he responds to it, the tea party right will find some way to demonize him. If he doesn't, the tea party will find a way to demonize him.

  • Here is the thing. Gun rights are not a partisan issue, it's a national issue. Anyone who claims to be in favor of liberty and freedom should be in favor of gun rights. I am starting to get exposure to a lot more liberals who are very much in favor of gun rights. It's refreshing, very refreshing.

  • I'm in favor of gun rights. I'm not in favor of the NRA spouting bullshit. I live in California and the gun laws here are probably one of the strictest in the USA. Yet, am I worried that the SWAT team will bust down my door and take my guns? No. I'm responsible and I have a clean record. I also follow the standards that California has set up. Basically, the gun regulation will mimic California's gun regulation laws. I still don't see where people pull, "You can't have a gun if you're a citizen" out of anywhere, other than Fox.

  • I live under California Gun law, and we may very well start seeing SWAT busts. Have you even read the bills proposed today? What they will do? I fight, as a Californian, to make sure the rest of the nation doesn't have to live under the bullshit we do. Gun Ownership might as well be a privileged here.

  • I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you're not breaking laws (which are very easy to follow here since they literally shove it in a person's face), nothing will happen.

  • Except the firearms we currently own will either have to be registered which is an addition 19 dollar fee, or we will face a felony. On top of that, there will be an Ammunition Tax, a limit on the number you can buy in one sitting, and firearm owners insurance, which is mandatory.

  • Don't you register yours? I had to for mine. And I only buy one box of ammo for when I go hunting.

  • Handguns are the only firearms that are required to be registered in the State of California. That changes with Long guns in 2014. Unless of course these bills pass. Neither my Shotgun nor my Rifle are registered. Unless DROS is actually a defacto gun registry. Which is starting to sound about true. I keep a lot of ammunition in my home. I like to go target shooting and I shoot a lot of ammo in a day. The last time I was out, I went through 100 7.62x54r, 100 12 gauge shot shells, and 300 .22s Ammo is expensive as it is, we don't need a tax on it on top of Sales tax, which might I remind you is 7.5% and as much as 10% in some places.
