Buying Final Shape will only get you access to trials until the next expansion comes out, then that new expansion will be required to play trials. You'll have access to all three episodes if you buy the annual pass, but you'll have to play ALOT to unlock everything in them before they're removed from the game when the next expansion releases.

Oh, I see, thank you. So the new expansion will remove all of the previous episodes and will be used to gatekeep Trials instead of The Final Shape? Also, do episodes (in-development things that they have on their roadmap now, Apollo and Behemoth) count as major expansions? I thought that The Final Shape will be the final major expansion, or DLC, now I'm so confused on how to call it.. So, it's the reason I'm asking about Trials access in the first place.

Episodes are basically seasons. Apollo & Behemoth are going to be actual expansions, with new planets, campaigns, raids and/or dungeons, etc.
