Three words: single player game. It's patrol, adding matchmaking for that is asinine.
-
Considering we have pale heart being solo, other patrols having matchmaking where you can have other guardians joining are asinine to you? And the game won't get players if a request for such basic feature gets "play other games" reply
-
The Pale Heart was designed that way. Of all the things you love to sh*t on this game for, you think Bungie needs to devote time and resources to adding a solo option to patrols?
-
They have the firewalled version of activities before, how much time and resources do they need to implement it on patrols?
-
You tell me, you seem to fancy yourself an expert on such things. In fact, how's your game coming along; swimmingly, I trust? I only speak for myself but I'm simply dying to try it.
-
I never say I'm an expert and my new buckshot machine gun is done cooking once I'm back from work for sure to rock on Customers simply want things and will compare stuff, not something an expert will do or I would go full bender, making my own destiny with blackjack and *censored* if I'm an expert
-
Customers simply want things, you say? So do children; that doesn't make it a great idea to give them what they want.
-
And what's your convincing reason on why adding matchmaking options to patrols is not a great idea?
-
I don't need one, I'm not the game developer. What's your dynamite reason it should be, because "Customers simply want things?" I know you're on here often enough to have seen the things people want, and many of them are ridiculous, impractical, or probably even flat out impossible. Then again, you like to throw out anything you can crib from other games and say, "Bungie needs to do this" without any consideration for the logistics of it, only that it's in a game you like and despite the fact you don't even play Destiny it should have that too. Do you think anything through in the least, or is it just "Customers simply want things?"
-
You can think about anything that can be interrupted by other players during your play time, be it pathfinder progression or anything else which can be a reason why having matchmaking options is beneficial At the bottom line, it's the most basic feature that should be there since day one
despite the fact you don't even play Destiny it should have that too.
I don't play destiny maybe because it's lacking on so many aspects from the basic level?
-
Edited by jmann43b: 4/11/2025 8:53:47 AMIt's Pathfinder, not a Flawless Trials ticket. Don't make it out as though it's some kind of Sisyphean task. Edit: Pathfinder isn't even done in Patrols anyway.
-
When you can end up not getting any progress because someone keeps stealing final blows for your pathfinder? I can say it becomes annoying and waste of a time unless damaging enemies still counts for progression
-
Pathfinder has nothing to do with Patrols. If you played the game, you'd know that.
-
Doesn't make having matchmaking options in patrols (or other activities) less beneficial, does it?
-
No, it makes it a pointless waste of resources. I'm betting you know that too, which is why you added "or other activities," and many of those do have matchmaking. Face it, you saw an opportunity to stir sh*t in your typical fashion, only you ended up stepping in it.
-
When they already have the resources in firewalled activities? What else they're wasting considering it's already there and they've been wasting resources on useless stuffs?
-
Here you go again, acting as though you're an expert despite admitting (at least in a round-about way) that you aren't. How do you know what's happening behind closed doors at Bungie, are you secretly an employee? Or maybe even an ex-employee? It would certainly explain some things.
-
So asking question is acting as an expert now? I only know they have firewalled activities which shows they can make activities available for solo so why can't they implement it on patrols at least? Maybe they should tell us why they can't from that closed doors
-
Why should they tell you what they can and can't do, are you a shareholder? Do you make the same demand of every other game studio? Bungie isn't the government and transparency on that level isn't a right you're owed. Oh wait, this is more of the "Customers simply want things......." crap, isn't it?
-
At the very least communicating why they can't add matchmaking options would help the player base understand instead of giving off the impression that they don't care about the game by staying silent But go on, if you think people should just consume without any saying, I can leave you be
-
No, it wouldn't, because people like you would still be on here saying "But [Insert Game Here] does it, so why can't you?" And don't evade my question either: Do you go to other studios and demand they divulge why they will or won't do something you expect, or is it only this one because you have some sort of weird vendetta against Bungie?

This is a post from the devs about not being able to put skins over modular melee weapons
Dear Tenno, We are sorry that we have not been able to add skins to the Zaws - and we won't be able to anytime soon. This issue is... surprisingly complicated, so let's walk through it so we're all on the same page. The system for re-working skins for Zaws is much more complicated than it might appear. The functionality of the Zaws is deeply connected to the Mesh of the weapon. The Mesh determines how the Zaws function, and to change the skin of the weapon would mean changing the functionality of each individual piece for the Zaw. Zaw's and Exodia both require the base assets, looking at the way Balance meshes and projectiles work means that changing the meshes would totally change the performance of the weapon in-game. We are not saying this will not happen, but it would be a massive undertaking on our end to change the cosmetics when we’re devoted to making other changes at the moment. We’re just saying it's not going to happen anytime soon. Thanks Tenno!
Players understand, they wait until the devs can finally fix the problem See? Communicating helps
-
I already addressed this, players wouldn't accept anything other than "We'll make it happen..........somehow." And you're still avoiding the question.
-
Maybe because that's all bungie did that people are negative about everything and if any game I play is missing something, I will voice my own opinion about it
-
Maybe because that's all bungie did that people are negative about everything and if any game I play is missing something, I will voice my own opinion about it
It's not your opinion. You are a shill paid by a competitor to post nonsense here. Shut up.
