The main issue that the game is going to have is maintaining a playerbase especially since that genre is already established and oversaturated, they might have a decent start but overtime they will start falling off.
you really think players that already put 2000+hrs they already established extraction game going to come play marathon long term not to mention other F2P games that are coming out this year and it was never mentioned that besides paying $40 will season pass also be a thing if so get ready to pay $50 plus.
Bungie doesn't realize how much of a bind they just put themselves in on how much of a steep hill they are going to have to climb with this game.

Only thing going for Marathon is there is not a single good extraction shooter on consoles, which have a very, very large shooter playerbase. Just on Xbox for example you can go to LFG section for say Rainbow Six Siege and have over 20k posts. Destiny when it was like golden era had like, 2k? And that is with a bunch of stuff not able to matchmake for and before fireteam finder and crossplay?

What's the thing that makes marathon stands out compared to other extraction shooters anyway? If it has nothing else but nostalgia using the name 'marathon', no reason buy it
