I know these are 2 separate entirely different games but you’d think an expansion that’s supposedly coming out this summer would have WAY more promo by now.
When’s the last time we actually got any new information on this expansion? I’ve been playing this game since Y1 and I can’t remember an expansion barely having any promo for it like this one.

6 RepliesWhy are they even making that game when they can’t even fix D2 pvp is beyond me.

10 RepliesTo be honest we're probably at the point now where Bungie need to sell the rights to D2 to a fresh and dedicated developer who'll put the time in and appreciate it. Let Bungie put their efforts into a re-release of a game within a genre that's stagnated throughout the market if that's what they want. Yet another extraction shooter, how original, but hey that's their choice to make... and so be it if it's what their after. I'm thankful to Bungie for giving us all that is Destiny. But if they can no longer be bothered with it then move on and hand the reigns to somebody who can, and will appreciate everything it is and still can be. Destiny deserves better, it made Bungie what it is. Yet the game and it's devoted player base now have little respect or appreciation, we aren't really valued anymore. God knows why after all it has accomplished but that's why the promo for the expansion is suffering. We're being milked to fund other ventures that I don't think is going to have the impact their hoping for but hey, again, that's their choice. New toys and all that jazz I guess. It's a shame but it's the probable truth.

It's locked behind all the new subclasses we have been opening up for the last 9 months

5 Repliesthey dont care, they just think the d2 community will be like "waw your new game was worth abandoning destiny 2 take my moneeeey daddy bungiiie " even tough most of the destiny community wont play / last on marathon because its way way WAY too different (and lot of us lost trust with bungie long time ago)
-
That sooner that game releases the sooner it fails miserably. Bungie will learn that Destiny is their only hope at running a profitable business. And their focus should be solely on it.
-
4 RepliesThat’s a fact, idk why they’re promoting this game to us. We don’t care about there new BS we want new BS in the game we are playing. We didn’t ask them to make something different we asked for more content here or a D3 not an entirely different game. They never promoted anything halo here so why are they shoving marathon down our throats.

So after that live face plant of a gameplay reveal how do you feel about the future of this part of their efforts?
-
26 RepliesI have not talked to ANYONE yet that is actually going to play Marathon much less actually buy it. Bungie and their fanboys don’t want to admit that Marathon is D.o.A. Just going through different forums, including here, this sentiment is across the boards. If it is, can’t say I feel sorry for them either.
-
It's a shame that this will most likely be what kills Destiny. Neglect from the people who should be caring for it
-
Not an good sign for marathon to say they are doing an development reveal ViDoc for it on an Saturday to say many people in the Uk will be watching the big game fixtures very bad omen
-
7 RepliesHow anyone gets upset over a studio creating a new game is absurd. It’s totally normal for any major studio to make more than one game. Jealous GF syndrome is never a good look.

Marathon isn’t dead on arrival when you look at the landscape of games coming out by other AAA departments. Most games that has came out have been infested by woke ideology instead of good story telling and good gameplay. Anyways all I’m going to else is people for years been saying that what ever game that has came out is the next destiny killer or d2 is dieing yet here we are.

Martha Stewart would be proud of the synergy

1 ReplyIf you haven’t noticed bungie doenst care about destiny anymore they care about there new thing, its always been like that they never update there old think, if you want to remain stuck with destiny you will be there old think aka they wont care about you

Due to recent comments, I retract my previous statement It sounds like Bungie isn't even considering abandoning D2, and plan to fully support both games , but the information cadence we are used to might change a little -
2 RepliesI think they are trying to move on from d2. Like they did with Halo they were bought by Microsoft and they told them they'd give them the Halo franchise and license if they let bungie go(which they did)then Bungie came out with Destiny which took off really well. Then D2 took off and joining the likes of COD pay to play Activision messed their greedy @$$es up from there hiccups everywhere and now they've been bought by Sony and it's Marathon on the way Yeah, there's still Frontiers for D2 on the way but this is where things will get spicy Marathon doesn't do well the team of devs will push Frontiers and hope that does and if it doesn't Sony will swallow the devs and put other 1st party devs on it(Gorilla Games,Santa Monica please!!) My thoughts

1 ReplyWhy promo a dying game on its last expansion? D2 has had its time and its nearly over, its time Bungie moves on. D2 probably was never meant to last this long if the servers and coding of the game have any relevance. D2's next expansions are likely only going to pull in D2 players. It shouldn't be a surprise to promote the new product for the whole game market.

Don't worry in tomorrows this week in destiny, Bungie will remind us to watch Saturdays marathon info

2 RepliesThe main issue that the game is going to have is maintaining a playerbase especially since that genre is already established and oversaturated, they might have a decent start but overtime they will start falling off. you really think players that already put 2000+hrs they already established extraction game going to come play marathon long term not to mention other F2P games that are coming out this year and it was never mentioned that besides paying $40 will season pass also be a thing if so get ready to pay $50 plus. Bungie doesn't realize how much of a bind they just put themselves in on how much of a steep hill they are going to have to climb with this game.

Not even gonna lie they don’t know how to really market this game feels like it’s just vets and no new players.

5 Replies"For budgetary reasons, all further Destiny expansions have been cancelled. There just isn't enough money for Destiny, Marathon, and the car collection." -Bungie, soon

2 RepliesPretty sure they are waiting for the ending of heresy since there most likely obvious connection to heresy and frontiers
-
8 RepliesMy guess is D2s Frontiers will be pushed to fall or winter due to the aforementioned voice actor strike which as we saw in Heresy has rendered some characters voiceless. For a season that will be gone come next cycle, not a huge deal, but in a permanent expansion that would be a horrible thing to release.

Heard that it’s gonna be 40$ base game. Worth a shot 🤷🏽♂️
