I love how every argument against crafting sounds like: “but noooooo I won’t feel special anymore having the god roll because I have no life outside of destiny and all the people with jobs and other responsibilities can get it without relying on RNG 🥺🥺🥺”

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 4/6/2025 5:23:57 PMIt’s funny how the anti crafting people always seem to want it one way only, screw everyone else. Yet the pro crafting people always argue for systems that appease both sides. Never forget who Bungie chose to appease.
-
Yup. It is possible for both sides to get what they want. It doesn’t have to be winner takes all
-
tbf they just have to remove the enhance option from crafting, and make with the next dlc the tier 5 guns more than simple enhanced perk guns
all the people with jobs and other responsibilities can't get it without relying on RNG 🥺🥺🥺”
That's what's called "entitlement". If you choose a hobby that doesn't fit your lifestyle, this will never happen. Crafting in and of itself isn't a bad idea, it just got out of hand. What should have been a limited number of craftable weapons turned into almost everything. People got used to it and didn't care that it absolutely kneecaps a "looter shooter". If you don't have time to play video games, don't play video games.

really the most ignorant mentality you could express. "You have a life? Well F you dont play then. you dont deserve good gear anyway"
-
You funny nine out of ten people I know hate the slot machine nature of this game. I'll take a definite path to something over RNG anyday.
-
Absolutely insane and tone deaf take. But hey, not everyone has responsibilities but one day little bro. You will get it
-
So you think anyone okay with Bungie not re-implementing crafting for the game are no-lifers with zero responsibilities, huh? That's a bold assumption.
-
No. But enough…
-
"But enough......" Strong argument, that. Tell me, what in your opinion qualifies as "enough?"

Agreed. It just feels like gatekeeping in a different form. Like if you didn't grind for the god roll to drop, it's not a proper achievement or something. Not everyone has time to grind for a god roll, not everyone likes the terrible activites Bungie makes players do to get those god rolls or red boarders, and not everyone likes Bungie's idea of RNG. The whole point of this game was that it was player choice. D1 still to this day is enjoyable and isn't flooded with a meta of have the best gun or you can't do these activites. People still ran with the very first Khvostov they got for a long time even into Crota despite it not giving that much power. As I pointed out in another post in this forum as well, crafting is optional. Anyone who complained about crafting needs to remember that they don't have to engage in it. Just like how a large portion of the D2 community quit the game during Episode Echoes, you don't have to engage in the content as it is meant to be optional. If something is too easy, why not just go to a higher difficulty? If something is too hard, you can either ignore the activity or try a lower activity and maybe get gear to help you in the harder activity. Hell, crafting could make it easier for people to test out different perk combo's as well. Sure it is expesive with shard/prism cost, but it still was easier than trying to get one specific roll out of however many there are.

Edited by Obi-Juan: 4/5/2025 2:01:10 AMNot really though. Devs shouldn't be designing things for the lowest common denominator. I'm so bored of seeing people act like games should revolve around them. You adapt. If you don't have time, you have to accept that you're only going to get so much done with what free time you have. The people who are unemployed and have time to grind are going to get better stuff. That's just life. You have months and months to get the 1 or 2 worthwhile weapons you want out of an episode. Plenty time.

My point is at least is that I’ve never seen a good argument against crafting sounds
