YOU GOT SHI9NIES. Crafting was not a good thing for the game. It was a stop gap measure to deal with the issues of too many perks, too many useless perks and perk combinations. Now, they have not fixed the core issue, but they took crafting away to get you to play more. Not really working, but it is what they did. Crafting in this game sucked compared to other games. Crafting did not SOLVE permanently any issues. Crafting should not be implemented back into the game unless they fix the real issues first.

  • "Crafting wasn't good for the game" "Core issues haven't been fixed" So since core issues haven't been fixed bring back crafting till it gets fixed. Yanking out crafting without a full plan in place is gonna is worse and more frustrating.

  • What did crafting fix? The answer is nothing. You can down vote me all you want, but that will not change the truth. Crafting does not make the game fun, it is not engaging game play, does not fix the core issues with the hunt for weapons. Crafting is as broken as the weapon hunt. Like it or not crafting is out.

  • And what issues did crafting make exactly? Other than making the grind somewhat easier in some cases, nothing at all. The problem isn't crafting itself. The major problem is that Bungie has been making activities that aren't fun. Activities such as Salvation's Edge are far too long and far too strict of activities that no one enjoys playing them. Crafting made it to where they never had to go back to such poorly designed activities while allowing those people to still have the guns they feel are good. The only plausible reason for Bungie removing crafting is to make players play for longer just so their charts for hours played look good. If they actually wanted people to play more, they should make activities fun and have better RNG than their gacha game bs that would make people want to come back. Need we also include the factor of weight gate and how crafting basically fixed one of the worst issues the game has had? It was only after they stopped doing crafted weapons in Revenant that people started to noticed something was wrong with the game.

  • I never said crafting CAUSED issues. I said it did not fix core issues. Inherently crafting is a stop gap measure for the exact reason you mentioned and others. I did say they removed it to get you to play longer. May or may not be working. I am playing less, but it is not because of crafting being removed. Fact is that the weapon hunt is not fun or engaging! Too many wasted efforts for a weapon with crappy perks and/or perk combinations. There are TOO many perks and to many possibilities on each weapon slot. Crafting does not solve this issue. Yes, If activities were designed better, weapon hunting would be more engaging. Yes, if each weapons had fewer perks and those perks were actually useful weapon hunting would be more fun. Yes to a lot of things, but crafting does not fix any core game mechanic. It just does not fix the problems with design or perks or weight gate or anything at all. Crafting is not fun or engaging game play! It just is not.

  • I do agree it didn't fix any issues with the game, but it did somewhat fix the issue of weight gate due to the fact not only was it still a thing when crafting was around, but everyone found out that weight gate was a thing after Bungie stopped making crafted weapons. I will also agree that there are far too many perks in the game and some perks still don't have a weapon to combo effects with in some cases. While crafting was not fun or engaging, which it never was meant to be fun or engaging to be honest, it at least let people deal with this game's terrible rng. Bungie no longer doing seasonal crafted weapons also is a reason quite a few people quit the game in part because of said terrible RNG. My main point is that saying Crafting was not good for the game is kind of not true as it did fix some issues for players. Saying it is bad because it didn't fix core issues is comparing two different thing as Crafting was a small fix to only part of the game, not the game as a whole. Part of the problem is, in my opinion, people like Kakis in this situation when you said the weapon hunt is not fun or engaging. They keep going around making videos of this weapon is OP, then this one is, then the next. There is no point in going for weapons if it is just going to be outclassed later. Although crafting made it easier to get specific rolls you would want on a weapon you enjoyed, it would most likely get outclassed soon enough because Bungie just wants inflated play time. It's one of the reasons now I kind of prefer D1 because every weapon was viable and the RNG wasn't that bad (minus maybe Vex Mythoclast and Necrochasm drops, but that's a different issue). Hell, some people early on even ran with the white rarity Khvostov despite the fact it couldn't be upgraded just because it was a good weapon to them. Try running white rarity weapons now in D2 and that's basically impossible. Honestly don't know how some people are doing -99 power GMs when -40 has meant enemies are immune, but still.

  • Exactly. Example being the tonic system. If crafting was so bad, then why is that still worse than that? Not to mention the factor of weight gate which many players feel is still in the game. Wouldn't be suprised with how Bungie is with this game.
