Still got posts going on about crafting...... If anyone has anymore bright ideas.....keep one thing in mind. That hamster wheel needs to keep turning. An Bungie need all the playtime they can get. Crafting while good for us. Also cut our playtime down steeply. Can't keep you in the content if you don't need anything from it. (Crafting cut down the need to farm sharply).

Why do people always say this like this applies to everyone? Crafting INCREASED my play time. Taking it away DECREASED it. I went from chasing all weapons to only chasing like 3 a season. I went from experimenting with weapons/perks during down time to not playing during down time. The whole “crafting means people play less” mentality is objectively false as it only applies to people that would be better off in a casino than people that play for the actual fun of using and trying out the weapons. Build crafting accessibility > grinding just for the sake of it. I’d rather play because I’m getting what I want and having fun using it than because I’m not getting what I want.

  • Which you go through a lot faster than if you were at the mercy of RNG. I'm afraid it's not objectively false. Especially with the way the system is designed. Not to mention the harmonizers being involved as well. But if we're going to go into singular specifics that are negligible to the overall outlook. Crafting didn't improve my playtime. It slashed it in half. Great I've got my weapons. I've already got builds that do what I need them to. Would be nice if there was any content to play it in.

  •
Would be nice if there was any content to play it in.
How little content is in destiny that you say there's no content to play? And old content doesn't make it unqualified to play

  • Very little. When you get to the point I'm at. You see how little Bungie puts out now. Once you've done the expansions and main story. There's pretty much nothing left but the same old mind numbing loops (which if Bungie ever took the timegate out........you could see is doable in a week. 2 at most). There's content there. But it's bone dry. All that's arguably left that has some depth is the storylines. Narrative team generally do very well.

  • And you have to pay $15 - $40 for this, no wonder people are leaving

I don’t though. Again, this is not something that applies to everyone. I’d say it’s a pretty even split on how and why people play when it comes to this. This one or the other mentality has got to go. It’s flaw and damaging.

  • Hamster wheel just push me away from playing destiny and the thing that keeps players in the content is fun, not grind

  • That's why we slow crafting down like needing the extra deep sight or lockouts on dungeons and raids even upping the resource requirements or only having the new guns craftable when the next season starts...the goal is to have a definitive path to the guns we want with open and understandable progress...the pull the lever slot machine RNG is burning everyone out there are many who spins weeks or months farming and still don't find what they're looking for (for some exotics years) it's not fair to those who put in the work to get out lucked by someone who could care less...and not everyone has the time, opportunity or accessibility to farm 10 hours a day...I want to earn my guns not roll dice until I die....many people have lives outside of destiny and greater priorities than a game... players will leave regardless if the game is not respecting their time and commitment...

I enjoy destiny and I am allowed to be critical and have constructive opinions about the things I enjoy the same as anyone else...games change over time and so does a players preference in games. saying there is a right and wrong way to enjoy games is very unfortunate...

Just trying to grasp why you'd keep at it knowing Bungie won't change it. You don't slow crafting down. You stamp it out. Or you have it. There's either a deflate or an inflate of playtime. An crafting of any sort would deflate it. As I've said before. Not against crafting. Just rather understanding what Bungie is doing. They need more people playing and RNG pulls in that direction more often than you think. I didn't want to do this but it's such a bad point to make.....an baffles me that people even make it. "and not everyone has the time, opportunity or accessibility to farm 10 hours a day...I want to earn my guns not roll dice until I die....many people have lives outside of destiny and greater priorities than a game..." Those decisions and responsibilities are those of the people who made them(having lives, children , jobs etc). Not Bungie's. The game cannot be tailored to your needs based on the decisions you made in life. You either put in the time or you don't. Whether you choose to increase that time or decrease it.......is personal choice. There is no right or wrong way to enjoy a game for sure. But if you can't allocate the time for yourself........then that's a you problem. Not a game problem.
