They wouldn't be able to send Zavala off without a recast anyways. Being killed or retired so suddenly without a peep would feel incredibly forced, and frankly, disrespectful.

They killed off Cayde when the actor wanted to focus on family and other projects. So killing Zavala instead of recasting isnt that far out of the question. Though for all the time he could have entered the field and helped instead of staying behind his wall? While I feel a lot of sympathy for Reddick’s friends and family. I feel nothing for Zavala.

And? Doesn’t change the popularity nor the moments that the character made folks laugh or crack a smile or go “What the -blam!- Cayde”. To see someone like yourself so bent out of shape of a fictional character’s popularity is quite concerning.

The fact that you’re attacking and (very poorly) trying to gain some sort of negative reaction from me proves otherwise. One can only wonder why you care so much that some people are as emotional over the passing of Mr. Reddick as they were when Cayde was killed off, as well as wondering what it could mean for the character of Zavala. Honestly its rather disappointing though in todays age not all surprising that someone’s opinion would be attacked. If I need help, then sadly you need to grow up.

I don't think narratively he needs to but to pay homage to Lance Reddick (who thoroughly loved destiny as more than a VA job) I can think of no greater honor that bungie can bestow upon him than to give him a hero's end.

Other characters didn’t really have a distinct or iconic voice. I wouldn’t really say it’s comparable.
