I had the same issue on Xbox one s. This is what I did to fix it; go to settings and press volume and audio output then press audio testing and details and reset audio settings then restart your Xbox.

Yea I can't hear ppl and they can't hear me. I restarted after reseting but no luck. Any other suggestions?
