Yeah I highly doubt fusions are a huge PvE prospect. People are either rocking shotguns, or snipers. Let’s be honest, what those two can do a fusion rifle could never, even with the effectiveness being boosted I’ve never felt compelled to use one over those two types, and I rarely see anyone using a fusion in raids. It’s a weird awkward weapon, it isn’t an ad clearer, but it isn’t that great at killing majors/ultras. It doesn’t do good boss dps anymore, once the boots got reworked. Honestly, I’m my opinion, fusions need to be the first utility type weapon. Solar to always causing a burning effect that causes the enemy to be disoriented, decreasing its accuracy and tracking. Shock to cause the enemy to stun, or cause weapon malfunction. Void to reduce the damage the enemy does. How the weapons do damage could make it better. Solar can spread the burn effect, to give that ad control Shock can jump to other enemies Void can have tiny explosions like telesto, but that helps the effect spread. The shots have to land on the target though. Not every weapon has to be a dps monster, and fusions can be the first utility type weapons that can have a place in low and high activity play.

  • I dont know about anyone else but I love the loaded question in pve. Its probably my go to special weapon. That being said, I like your idea alot on the adding a new functionality to fusions.

Fusion rifles are the games best shield busters. People don’t use them in pve because they’ve spent most of life of the franchise BROKEN AND UNUSABLE because of all the whining and crying from pvp.

  • That and there aren’t perks worth even using on it. Legendary snipers can have firing line and fourth times the charm. Shotguns can have trench barrel. Plus any shotgun element is also great, and it can crit, where fusions can’t. The charge speed isn’t just based on the archetype, it’s also perk based. Shotguns and snipers don’t have that issue. So you’re forced to worry about getting one or two perks to help make the highest damage fusions worth using. Fusions just don’t have much going for them in pve. Even when many praised the vanguard pinnacle, can’t remember the name, I barely saw it. If it isn’t going to crit, at least give us a reason for that trade off, make it the pure elemental weapon, give it utility. Because shield breaking isn’t a good enough reason.

  • Loaded Question. That thing is so powerful that it’s arguably broken. It is one of the deadliest crowd control weapons in the game. Part of the problem in pve is that raiders suck up all the oxygen in the room, so if a weapon isn’t a boss killer, they whine about it not being worth using. I’ve wiped entire add wave with a single shot from Loaded Question with arc singe.

  • I mean, graviton and sunshot do just as fine, graviton even doing better. When grinding out the catalyst in the shuro Chi room, I was able to clear out the room at times with single digit kills. Those seekers can really destroy a room, and it’s primary anmo. So you can clear ads up close and far away, like crown, where it can shine cause you can help the other teams from far away. Arguably, every raid needs boss dps, you can’t tell me it’s a whine. Especially in true mmos, if you don’t have a good boss dps team, you really won’t complete the raid. Because some bosses take up a lot of resource, so tanks and healer might have issues in the long run, because dps setups take up more slots than other classes. You can argue that only four people need strong dps in raid teams, where the other two are superior ad and major clearers. I usually do this by equipping nighthawk and running a set up for ad clear and major/ultras. My super alone could let me keep up in dps. I can see the strength in loaded question, but it’s a special. If I can use one exotic primary that does ad clearing better, and have one special be major/ultra focused, with my heavy being my dps, I’d rather go for that optimized set up. I’m not saying you need to if you’re trying to complete a raid, but I’m not a kid anymore, so it’s more about respecting everyone’s schedule and optimizing the most so we can get back to our lives, I can’t sit on one raid for 6 plus hours anymore. Back then I was fine with long raid runs, just to beat it. I finished my homework, didn’t have much things to do because i didn’t discipline myself enough, but now most older people prefer optimized setups for a reason, and I can’t disagree. I just don’t see the fun in that anymore.

  • I don’t see where you get that, and whether you like it or not, pvp and pve is the entire package of destiny 2 and you just need to get over it and understand pvp players have a valid complaint to make. Because while you’re hiding away in pve only playing one half of the game, enjoying your experience, there are players on pvp having their experience ruined by something. If you can’t see that, we have nothing to talk about because I already know it’ll be a waste of everyone’s time.
